Everyone knows I like to get families involved as much as I can and to make it that extra bit special. Leroy’s life was taken from him in the blink of an eye so everyone was devastated. I knew we’d have to get as many people involved to help ease the pain for this beautiful family but also community. We dropped Leroy’s carriage off where his family but mainly one amazing lady painstakingly painted it by hand. Dot by dot, line by line, the Willy wagtail and the snake represents both sides of the families and close family put their handprints on the top.

I was blown away when I saw it, such a clever and patient lady !! Leroy from what I heard from many people you loved to swear but also made people laugh with your antics. I felt honoured Leroy to witness all the traditions carried out at your graveside from the eucalyptus being burnt to cleanse you onto your next journey, your friend’s singing traditional aboriginal songs and your family and friends filling in your grave. The atmosphere on the day was full of love, friendship, devotion but sadness too. Leroy you would have been in awe of all your family and friends who turned up to say their goodbyes to you, you were obviously loved beyond words and even three kookaburras flew down into the tree and started their singing. Thank you for letting me look after you it has been an honour but you are one loved and terribly missed young boy.

Kai, a beautiful, quiet, gentle and very clever young boy. So many people were hurting so we wanted to make his farewell special and get others involved to help ease the pain. We dropped Kai’s carriage off where his best friend spray painted the lid and his family made a beautiful wooden sign. The sign lit up at the service when a few certain words were played during a very sentimental and meaningful song. We had asked people to come forward and lay items that meant something to them and Kai and also write a message on his carriage. Kai your service was so heartbreaking but special at the same time. I cried for you Kai whilst you were in my care and I cried at your service too. As a mother seeing your family broken broke my heart but I’m so glad that we got them involved as much as we could. I asked your mum and nan for a lock of their hair which I placed in your hand so you had a piece of them with you all the time and I put with you your favourite biscuits. I hope Kai that you have now found some peace but I know that I have found a long lasting friendship with your family who are just beautiful. Watch over them Kai and maybe leave a little sign now and then to let them know your still around.

Dawn’s Farewell

dawns-farewell_2_Caring-Angels_Ipswich-funeral-home.jpg

Today we farewelled a lady who’s been described as being feisty & told it how it was. She was always smartly dressed and elegantly even if she was just going to the shops. Apparently she loved bling and glam and the colour pink. I asked if we could put some ‘ bling ‘ on the coffin for her & make it look a bit more glamorous. The family loved the end result and said that Dawn would have loved it. Dawn you and your special carriage would look so elegant on your arrival amongst the stars and I know you’ll sparkle brightly.

Here are some wonderful comments we have received from family and friends below:

Thanks so much Amanda. You have really been so great helping our family personalise both our loved ones farewells.
Nanny Dawn would’ve loved the bling & butterflies.
Am sure she would be smiling down alongside her darling Ray. xoxo

“In her younger days they called her Delta Dawn, prettiest woman you ever laid eyes on.” Thanks so much ladies for making my Nan’s farewell as beautiful as she was!
